1001 Threads of Mizan, a new 1-3 player co-op action-adventure game inspired by One Thousand and One Nights, has been announced at gamescom 2026.

MCB Game Studio develops the title with veteran talent. The new studio consists of veterans from Bungie, Ubisoft, and BioWare. It is building the game on a big budget and aims to deliver an expansive cooperative experience.

Creative director Lars Blonde framed the project's core question in the press release. He asked what it would be like to experience a single-player epic adventure fully cooperatively with friends.

Gameplay centers on traversal combat against giant foes. Players will face off against colossal jinn enemies that tower above the world. Combat makes traversal a key tenet as players scale the giant enemies to defeat them.

The narrative follows three heroes guided by Shahrazad. United by the famed Storyweaver Shahrazad, three unlikely heroes rediscover the lost power of the Mizan. Their quest is to take down an ancient jinn king before his thirst for vengeance destroys humanity.

The story involves a tale of betrayal that threatens to tear the world apart. The setting is a sprawling Arabian fantasy world drawn from the folklore and stories of One Thousand and One Nights.

The project targets fans seeking underrepresented mythologies. The big-budget gaming business has focused predominantly on North America, Europe, and Japan. Few recent big titles have explored the cultures and mythologies of the rest of the world.
A hands-on preview occurred before the gamescom 2026 reveal. The title is in development for PS5.
