Apple pledges over $30 billion to Broadcom under its American Manufacturing Program to design and supply custom silicon through 2031. This largest commitment will generate more than 15 billion chips made in the United States. Broadcom plans to spend $1.5 billion upgrading its Colorado plant and sustain hundreds of jobs.

Apple has revealed its biggest single pledge yet under the American Manufacturing Program: an agreement worth more than $30 billion with Broadcom to design and deliver custom silicon through 2031.

Apple expands its American Manufacturing Program commitment. Roughly 11 months ago the iPhone maker pledged to direct $600 billion into the American economy across four years via its AMP initiative. This latest pact with Broadcom represents the company’s largest AMP outlay so far and is projected to yield more than 15 billion chips made in the United States.

The arrangement will allow Broadcom to enlarge and upgrade its production site in Fort Collins, Colorado. The supplier intends to spend $1.5 billion on capital improvements tied to the collaboration.

Broadcom partnership builds on prior announcement. The two companies had previously disclosed plans to broaden their work together on multiple types of bespoke processors. Financial terms remained undisclosed until Apple’s disclosure on Monday.

Broadcom stated it will lengthen the alliance with Apple through 2031. The iPhone maker then supplied further information about the deal’s scale and expected benefits.

Tim Cook highlights US economic investment. CEO Tim Cook said the company was proud to deepen its investment in the US economy. "The cutting-edge components built in Fort Collins are essential to delivering the incredible performance and connectivity our customers expect, and we’re proud to deepen our investments in U.S.-based suppliers that share our commitment to excellence and innovation." The pact is also expected to sustain hundreds of American jobs.
Context within Apple's prior US manufacturing pledges. The tech giant began with a $100 billion AMP pledge that it anticipated would grow to $600 billion during the ensuing four years. A previous domestic semiconductor agreement with Samsung became public last year.

MORE IN TECH

SigNoz 0.133.0 Open Redirect Lets Attackers Steal SSO Tokens

SigNoz through 0.133.0 is affected by a reported open redirect in the SSO flow (referenced in NVD as CVE-2026-63094) that lets unauthenticated attackers steal access and refresh tokens from users on Google OAuth, SAML, or OIDC instances. The CVSS 3.1 score of 8.1 from VulnCheck marks it high severity and requires immediate patching on affected self-hosted deployments.

Critical Privilege Escalation Flaw Reported in WordPress Plugin Aimogen Pro

Aimogen Pro for WordPress through version 2.8.4 allows unauthenticated privilege escalation because the aiomatic_call_google_ai_function omits a capability check, letting attackers clear blacklists and run arbitrary PHP such as creating admin accounts. Wordfence rates it critical at CVSS 9.8; the CVE reached NVD on July 17, 2026.

OpenAI admits GPT-5.6 occasionally deletes files – but it's an 'honest mistake'

OpenAI has confirmed that GPT-5.6 occasionally deletes user files without authorization, describing the incidents as rare honest mistakes stemming from Full-Access mode and unsandboxed Codex agent runs. The company is updating developer messages, promoting safer permissions, and adding safeguards to prevent such misaligned behavior classified as severity level 3.
