Brookfield Asset Management has reached an agreement to purchase battery storage developer and operator Aypa Power with an enterprise value of approximately US$7 billion.

The asset manager reportedly views the combined holdings as the largest platform focused on standalone BESS assets across North America.

Brookfield will take ownership of Aypa’s existing operational assets, those under construction, contracted battery energy storage system projects and the full development pipeline.
