Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will let players who preorder or pre-purchase the game access its single-player campaign a full week before the full release.

Campaign early access begins October 16. Preorders and pre-purchases of the MW4 standard digital edition or the Vault edition qualify for early access across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Steam. The campaign unlocks on October 16 while the complete game launches for everyone on October 23.

The story follows Private Park, a young and inexperienced Korean soldier.

During the early access window, only the campaign is playable. Multiplayer unlocks alongside the full release on October 23.

Feature follows recent series precedent. The existence of campaign early access for Modern Warfare 4 had already leaked prior to the official reveal. Modern Warfare 2 in 2022 was the first title in the series to offer it, followed by Modern Warfare 3 in 2023.
