Clockwork Revolution Gameplay Trailer Reveals 2027 Xbox Exclusive

InXile Entertainment revealed new gameplay for its time-bending action-RPG Clockwork Revolution at Xbox's summer showcase, confirming a 2027 release as an Xbox console exclusive.

Clockwork Revolution is set in a steampunk crime-ridden city. The game takes place in Avalon, an industrial city powered by an underworld of competing crime bosses. Players control a customizable character named Morgan Vanette who is aided by a robotic drone-like companion named Prentice.

Vanette uses a device called the Chronometer to shift the flow of time. The trailer shows the character and fellow Rotten Row Hooligans members on a heist gone wrong.

The antagonist and combat feature prominent roles in the trailer. Lady Ironwood serves as the main antagonist with a goon squad that hunts the player. Portions of the trailer depict all-out FPS brawls.

One demonstrated time-bending power called Displace lets players move objects in the world to unlock new paths or turn the environment against enemies. The trailer displays Dishonored-style immersive sim elements.

Time manipulation shapes narrative and relationships. According to game director Chad Moore, using the Chronometer to alter the environment and change the past directly impacts allies in big and small ways. InXile is emphasizing that playthroughs will differ based on player choices.

The studio has not shown enough in the trailer to fully convey those differences. InXile Entertainment plans to share more information later in the year and leading up to the 2027 launch.
