Final Fantasy VII Revelation Launches April 8, 2027

Square Enix announced during the PlayStation State of Play broadcast that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch for PlayStation 5 on April 8, 2027. The action RPG serves as the final entry in the acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake Series, providing the epic conclusion to the narrative that started with Final Fantasy VII Remake and continued in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

New gameplay footage debuted during the State of Play broadcast. The title takes place across a vast open world rendered at an unprecedented scale. Players will have fresh chances to traverse the planet aboard the iconic Highwind airship.

Exploration options also include the returning chocobo companion Piko, who now functions as both a mount and a combat partner. Piko will level up with the party, unlocking new abilities that aid in both movement and fights.

The FITS System expands combat options. The Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear, or FITS for short, lets players customize their approach through four distinct uniforms: Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. These outfits modify party members' skills, combat roles, and visual appearance, reportedly creating striking new tactical and fashion statements.

A new dynamic character-switching mechanic will permit instant swaps between party members during exploration. Traversal improvements include a grappling gun for rapidly scaling rooftops and stylish city navigation. Players can also select which party member undertakes specific quests, which will shape how certain story moments and gameplay sequences play out.

Queen's Blood returns with a new storyline. The popular card-game minigame gains a major new campaign focused on Red XIII. Participants will confront formidable new adversaries and fresh mechanical twists that build on the strategic depth of the original.

Pre-orders opened with multiple editions and bonuses. Every pre-order of Final Fantasy VII Revelation includes the Mecha-Chocobo Moogle Summon Materia. The Premium Edition contains the base game, a Story Expansion Pass that grants access to two story-centered DLCs, 24-hour early access, the Reclaimant Choker accessory, and supporting consumable items. The Premium Plus Edition builds on that package by adding a digital art book, a digital mini soundtrack, the Polydroid Alexander Summon Materia, the Nymphwing Bracelet armor, and the Risk Takers Choker accessory.
