Google Launches $99 Fitbit Air and Health App
TL;DRAI · 60 sec read

Google introduces the Fitbit Air, a $99 screenless tracker 25% smaller than Luxe with modular sensors for heart rate, sleep, activity, and seven-day battery life. Preorders start today. Google launches a unified Health app merging Fitbit and Health Connect, rebrands Premium, and releases AI Health Coach publicly. This targets simple, affordable tracking amid Fitbit integration.

Google introduces the Fitbit Air, its first new Fitbit tracker in four years. The $99 screenless wearable features a modular sensor that pops out of the band for easy strap swaps. It measures 25 percent smaller than the Luxe and 50 percent smaller than the Inspire, weighing 12 grams with the band and 5.2 grams without.

The device packs an optical heart rate sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, blood oxygen sensor, and skin temperature sensor for sleep tracking. It offers 50-meter water resistance, seven days of battery life, and a five-minute charge for one full day. The Fitbit Air works alongside a Pixel Watch.

Preorders start today, with shipping on May 26. Google Vice President of Health and Home Rishi Chandra calls it a simple choice for users overwhelmed by complicated, bulky, or pricey wearables—ideal even for kids and parents needing no new learning curve.
Google also merges the Fitbit app and Android’s Health Connect into a single Google Health app on May 19; Fitbit Premium becomes Google Health Premium at the same price. The AI-powered Health Coach exits beta for public access. These steps build on Google’s $2.1 billion Fitbit acquisition in 2021, shifting back to basic, affordable bands with haptics for silent alarms and an LED charge light—no buttons or display.

Qualcomm launches Dragonfly C1000 CPU for data centers with Meta as key client

Qualcomm introduced its Dragonfly C1000 data center CPU engineered for agentic AI on Wednesday and confirmed Meta as a customer once production begins in 2028. Google to lower Play Store fees in US, Europe, UK on June 30

Google is set to implement lower Play Store fees and external payment options in Europe, the UK, and the US starting June 30 as part of its Epic Games settlement. CISA Warns Hackers Are Actively Exploiting Severe Ubiquiti Flaws

CISA placed three severe Ubiquiti UniFi OS vulnerabilities and one critical Lantronix command injection flaw into its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on June 23, 2026, after confirming active attacks. Federal agencies must apply patches or mitigations within three days under BOD 26-04, while Bishop Fox demonstrated the Ubiquiti issues can be chained for full remote code execution and released a free detection script.
