Palworld 1.0 Update Arrives July 10 With Recommended Fresh Start

Pocketpair brings Palworld to version 1.0 on July 10 around 12:30pm Japan time, ending its Early Access phase with overhauled mechanics, a revamped story, new locations, and building options. Existing saves remain usable, but the studio suggests a fresh start for the best experience after all the overhauls. The timing remains approximate.

Pocketpair will bring its creature-collecting survival title out of Early Access on Friday with the 1.0 update. The Japanese studio has now pinned the rollout to approximately 12:30pm local time, while telling players they may keep current progress but will enjoy the fullest experience by beginning again.
However, due to the large number of changes to the game, including overhauls to mechanics and new content, we believe that starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld!
Palworld sets approximate 1.0 release window across time zones. The official Palworld X account posted that the patch should land around 12:30pm Japan time on 10 July. Converted, that falls at 8:30pm PT on 9 July, 11:30pm ET on 9 July, 4:30am BST on 10 July, 5:30am CEST on 10 July and 1:30pm AEST on 10 July. The developer stressed the timing remains approximate.

Save data carries forward but Pocketpair recommends a fresh start. "Players can continue their existing saves if they wish, as we want to respect the time and effort you have put in," the studio said after the date announcement. "However, due to the large number of changes to the game, including overhauls to mechanics and new content, we believe that starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld!"
The legal battle continues with seemingly no end in sight, though Pocketpair's arguments have held much more strongly in court compared to Nintendo's.
1.0 overhaul adds new mechanics, story, and locations. Among the additions are overhauled raid mechanics, fresh shapes and items for base building, an entirely revamped story, new locations to explore, a Wildlife Sanctuary overhaul to allow each to have its own ecosystem, reworked Tower Bosses and further adjustments. Palworld first launched in Early Access in 2024 as a survival and creature-collecting hybrid.
Nintendo lawsuit over design similarities remains unresolved. At launch, Palworld was accused of allegedly basing its characters on those of Pokemon. Nintendo sued Pocketpair for infringing on its patents, which forced the developer to remove its Pokeball-like summoning mechanic in a later patch. The legal battle continues with seemingly no end in sight, though Pocketpair's arguments have held much more strongly in court compared to Nintendo's.
