Rockstar expresses regret over the leaked footage and development timeline. The studio said the unauthorized release of gameplay videos has been deeply disappointing and was never the planned way for the public to first experience the title. It apologized for the lengthy process of completing the project, releasing further information, and delivering official footage.

Leaker continues posting new clips as publisher pursues legal action. A person or organization known as CyberLeek has claimed responsibility for the material, which reportedly comes from a playable build. Shortly after the statement appeared, the same source shared fresh footage reportedly showing protagonist Jason performing a carjacking on a boxy Chevy-style vehicle bearing a "Rideout Customs" logo on its rear window before attempting to escape police pursuit; Lucia appears briefly in what looks like a cutscene at the end. Take-Two Interactive has asked to subpoena Microsoft and Discord in connection with the copyright-infringing posts, targeting the identity of those responsible. The leaked clips have been used in part to promote a cryptocurrency.

Fans receive extended gameplay look ahead of November release. An extended preview of the game is set to stream exclusively on Netflix on Thursday evening at 3PM ET, six hours before the same footage reaches YouTube. The title is scheduled to launch on November 19.
