Apple supplier Pegatron has indirectly signaled that the base iPhone 18 will miss this year's September launch window and arrive in early 2027, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily News.

Pegatron signals schedule change on earnings call. The company hosted its second-quarter 2026 earnings call on Wednesday. The Taiwanese publication reported that Pegatron told investors one of its customers intends to alter its normal smartphone shipment timing. The report attributes the adjustment to Apple.

This would mark the first break from the pattern established since the iPhone 11.

Plans previously rumored by multiple sources. The decision to stagger the iPhone 18 family has circulated in supply-chain reports for roughly a year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, former The Information journalist Wayne Ma, and others have all pointed to the change. Supplier Largan Precision offered a similarly oblique hint earlier in 2026.

Additional models expected in March 2027. A lower-end iPhone 18e and an iPhone Air 2 are also slated for the same March 2027 timeframe. In all, six distinct new iPhones would reach the market by the end of that month.
