Censys says it observed 1,465 hosts running an exposed ARTEX console as of November 4, 2026. About 650 sat in two identical hosting blocks, leaving roughly 815 distinct-looking deployments. The post does not say those hosts are carrying out new attacks.

The count is in a November 5 post. Censys says about 650 of those hosts sit in two blocks of identically configured hosting. That leaves roughly 815 distinct-looking deployments. The post says the console does not require public-facing access, and that overall deployment is likely higher.

Some hosts also run other tools Censys detects. The post says 155 ARTEX hosts, or 10.6 percent, also run at least one other threat it detects. It names Vshell, Cobalt Strike, and Adaptix C2 among them. It also says 32 open directories on other ARTEX hosts expose post-exploitation kits.
That leaves roughly 815 distinct-looking deployments.
The post points to earlier reports, not a new attack. Censys says CrowdStrike linked ARTEX to a campaign against South Korean financial institutions. It says Microsoft linked ARTEX to Storm-0940's compromise of ConnectWise customer tenants. Those reports are from October. This count is not a new attack report.

ARTEX is an open-source tool. Censys says it was released on July 26, 2026. The post says the author said on October 8 that the project would go closed-source, and that the repository has since been taken down. Archived copies are still circulating, the post says.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.
