Firehawk Defense announced a Series D of more than $150 million at a valuation above $1.4 billion, according to the company.

Firehawk raised the round at a valuation above $1.4 billion. The round was led by Advent and Rochefort Asset Management, according to the company.
The company says its thermoplastic-based process reduces propellant production from a typical 60-day cycle to six hours.

Production scaling targets artillery and rocket motors. Firehawk says it expects its Great Plains Arsenal campus in Oklahoma to become the third-largest propellant production facility in the United States by output by the end of 2027. CEO Will Edwards says the site will produce roughly 3 million pounds of propellant a year by then. Reuters reported the site is expected to reach low-rate production in mid-2027 and then scale to tens of thousands of motors per month.

3D printing shortens manufacturing timelines. The company says its thermoplastic-based process reduces propellant production from a typical 60-day cycle to six hours. Firehawk is one of four vendors the Army selected under other-transaction agreements to build prototype Hydra-70 rockets, with each vendor delivering 24 prototype rockets.

Partnership with GD-OTS advances 155 mm output. A teaming agreement with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems focuses on ramping production of 155 mm base-bleed motors. Reuters reported Firehawk plans to produce more than 100,000 artillery motors next year under a commercial agreement with General Dynamics, beginning with deliveries to allied nations while U.S. Army qualification proceeds over the next 12 to 18 months.
