Honeywell announced Forge Plant Cognition, an industrial AI platform for refiners built with NVIDIA and Dell, launching first at Dangote's Lekki refinery in Nigeria. Honeywell's benefit estimate is preliminary, not guaranteed and not independently verified.

Honeywell Technologies announced the launch of Forge Plant Cognition, an industrial AI platform for refining, petrochemical and liquefied natural gas operators. It is launching first at Dangote's petroleum refinery in Lekki, Nigeria, and was built with NVIDIA AI and Dell Technologies' AI infrastructure.

What it does

The platform is powered by Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA. According to Honeywell, NVIDIA Nemotron open models power agents that interpret operational data, NVIDIA Omniverse libraries help build a digital twin of the plant for simulation-based training and planning, and NVIDIA Cosmos models with the Metropolis VSS Blueprint enable vision AI agents for real-time alerts and anomaly detection.

It is built on the Forge Cognition platform that Honeywell introduced on Oct. 14 (https://www.honeywell.com/us/en/news/press-releases/2026/10/honeywell-technologies-launches-forge-cognition-with-nvidia-and-dell-technologies-advancing-physical-ai-across-buildings-and-industrial-operations), which Honeywell describes as an agentic AI and simulation platform for facility operations.

Honeywell's release says Dangote will integrate its operating data with Honeywell's process expertise. It gives no go-live date and no availability or pricing details. Honeywell is also helping the refinery increase its capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day within three years. Dangote CEO David Bird said the company chose Forge Plant Cognition.

Honeywell's estimate

Honeywell estimates, on preliminary data and without guarantee, that the platform could deliver more than 29 cents a barrel in operational benefit at the Lekki refinery. At full-capacity throughput, it says, that would be more than $60 million a year in gross benefit. The figure is gross of implementation costs and specific to that facility, and it has not been independently verified.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.

Schneider, NVIDIA and HPE introduce edge AI agents for process industries

Schneider Electric, NVIDIA and HPE announced a collaboration on Oct 21 introducing Industrial AI Agents at the Edge: OT-monitoring, cybersecurity and energy-optimization agents that run on HPE Private Cloud AI and are managed through Schneider's EcoStruxure Industrial Insights apps. The release gives no availability date; CMPC Chile is cited as a three-year user of Schneider's OTMS monitoring that the agents would build on.

Musk Says SpaceX Closed $40 Billion of Debt for GPUs, Mostly Callable

Elon Musk said on X that SpaceX "closed $40B of debt for GPUs," adding that the company is investment grade and has Starlink and launch revenue, while debt markets have "almost entirely shut off" for companies without substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. In a follow-up reply, Musk said it is "primarily callable debt for GPU purchases that will arrive in Q1 and Q2" and "not a major factor this quarter." Musk did not name lenders or terms. Reuters, the FT, CNBC, Semafor and Bloomberg had earlier reported, citing unnamed sources, that SpaceX was arranging about $40 billion of debt for Nvidia chips, with Apollo and Goldman Sachs reported to be leading.

Elvis Presley rights holders sue Anthropic over lyrics to 274 songs, seek up to $41M

A unit of Authentic Brands Group, ABG EPE IP LLC, and seven other Elvis Presley rights holders sued Anthropic on Oct. 23 in the Northern District of California (No. 5:26-cv-12473). They allege Claude was trained on lyrics to 274 Presley compositions, including "Can't Help Falling in Love," "All Shook Up" and "A Little Less Conversation," without a license, and that it still produces infringing lyrics and rewrites despite guardrails. They plead copyright infringement plus DMCA circumvention and copyright-management-information removal and seek up to $41.1M in statutory damages (about $48.6M with the DMCA claims) plus an injunction. Anthropic did not immediately respond to Billboard's request for comment, and the allegations are unproven.
