iPhone Fold Mass Production Slips to August
Digitimes reports Apple’s iPhone Fold mass production has slipped from July to August, per supply chain sources. The delay compresses inventory buildup ahead of a planned 2026 launch, limiting early availability.

New iPhones traditionally begin mass production in June to build inventory ahead of September launches. The shift to August leaves Apple with less time to stockpile units, potentially making the iPhone Fold hard to buy at launch.
Reports conflict: Nikkei Asia cited significant engineering issues that could delay first shipments by months, while Bloomberg reported last week that the foldable iPhone remains on track for Apple’s normal iPhone launch period later this year.
Supply chain sources confirm the August shift but emphasize Apple still aims for a 2026 introduction. Following a delayed Engineering Verification Test, the device must pass Design Validation Testing and Production Validation Testing before full manufacturing.
