Meta Connect 2026: Ray-Ban Audio, 100g VR glasses, Charm, AI opt-out

Meta Connect 2026 focused on wearable AI and lighter VR hardware. Meta announced camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses, third-generation Ray-Bans, 100-gram Meta VR Glasses with a pocket compute puck, the Charm keychain running Muse AI, and an opt-out for AI training on smart-glasses visuals.

Camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio leads the glasses expansion. At Connect, Meta introduced the first camera-free model in the Ray-Ban Meta line alongside third-generation camera-equipped Ray-Ban spectacles and new Meta-branded frames. Muse AI support and an FDA-cleared hearing enhancement mode also joined the smart glasses lineup, with customizable audio and control options plus Detailed Responses that incorporate feedback from the blind and low-vision community.

Users can opt out of AI training on glasses visuals. Images and video from Meta AI sessions on the glasses can be excluded from model training and will no longer be sent to third-party contractors for review. Once opted out, visual data is used only for the immediate query and then deleted. The opt-out covers camera-based AI interactions only; audio can still be used for training unless users delete those recordings manually.

Charm packs Muse AI into a keychain form factor. Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated the Tamagotchi-style device on stage at Connect. Users tap a fingerprint sensor to start real-time voice interaction with Muse, and a small animated avatar appears on screen as the AI's visual stand-in.

Meta VR Glasses put a 100-gram display on the face and compute in a pocket puck. The glasses come in small and large sizes and use two front-facing cameras for color passthrough. A wired puck holds a Snapdragon Reality Elite processor, 128GB of storage, 12GB of RAM, and a battery rated for up to three hours of media playback. The split design aims to cut weight and commitment versus traditional headsets.
