CVE-2026-108452 is an 8.8 path traversal flaw in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition before build 16.0.20326.20190. Microsoft, the CNA, says an authenticated Site Owner can run code over the network. KB5002927 raises the build to the fixed version.

⚐ CORRECTEDThursday, October 15, 2026 at 6:27 PM EDT

Correction (Oct 15): An earlier version said SharePoint Server Subscription Edition versions through 16.0.20326.20190 were affected. The CVE record lists versions before 16.0.20326.20190; that build is the fix shipped in KB5002927.

→ All corrections
Microsoft has disclosed a high-severity path traversal vulnerability in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition that allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network.
The vulnerability stems from improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory.
Microsoft rates the flaw 8.8. The company, acting as CNA, assigned CVSS 3.1 score 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) to CVE-2026-108452. NVD displays Microsoft’s score and has not published a separate analyst score.

SharePoint Server Subscription Edition before 16.0.20326.20190 is affected. The CVE record lists versions from 16.0.0 up to, but not including, 16.0.20326.20190. Microsoft says an authenticated Site Owner could exploit the bug remotely over the network; the Preview Pane is not an attack vector.
The flaw permits remote code execution by an authenticated user.

KB5002927 fixes the issue. Microsoft’s October 2026 remediation raises the build to 16.0.20326.20190. MSRC notes the CVE was addressed by the October updates but was inadvertently omitted from the October Security Updates listing; customers who already installed those updates need take no further action. EXPERT TAKE

Administrators should prioritize the KB5002927 update on all SharePoint Server Subscription Edition instances to block authenticated remote code execution.
