Nintendo shuts down Mario Kart Tour servers on September 30, 2026. The 2019 mobile game becomes unplayable offline afterward, as no offline version is planned. Players access stats via the app until January 2027 and the website until September 2027, with purchases halted and final events running until closure.

Nintendo will close the servers for Mario Kart Tour, its mobile racing title released in 2019, at the end of 2026. After that point the game cannot be played at all, even offline.

Mario Kart Tour ends service on September 30, 2026. In France the title becomes unplayable from 8 a.m. local time that day, according to the company. Nintendo has confirmed it has no plans for an offline version.

The app itself will stay accessible for a while after the shutdown, allowing players to review their personal statistics until January 13, 2027. Beyond that date, all such data must be viewed on the official Mario Kart Tour website, which is scheduled to remain online until the end of September 2027.

In-app purchases and currency adjustments precede shutdown. Sales of rubies, the title’s premium virtual currency, stopped on July 7, 2026. Any leftover rubies may still be used “in the spotlight selection, the Mii outfits shop and the Gold Rush until the end of service,” with many item prices reduced ahead of closure.

Final events and rewards run through the shutdown date. A series of special events is planned between now and September 30, 2026, and daily login bonuses during this period will be more generous than normal.
Mario Kart Tour launched in 2019 and achieved 20 million downloads in its first 24 hours. That figure had multiplied by 10 two years later in 2021. The game has received no further major updates since October 2023.
