OpenAI Introduces Sponsored Agents and New ChatGPT Ads Tools

OpenAI has introduced Sponsored Agents, natural-language campaign tools in ChatGPT, enhanced Ads Manager features, and new integrations with HubSpot and Shopify for ChatGPT Ads.

OpenAI is testing Sponsored Agents for conversational ad experiences.
After clicking an ad in ChatGPT, users can choose to start a clearly labeled conversation with a business-sponsored agent. The format shifts advertising from static messages toward interactive dialogues that can answer questions, offer recommendations, and guide next steps. Advertisers engage people in the same place ChatGPT already handles commercially intentful tasks.

Advertisers can build campaigns with a few prompts in ChatGPT Work.

Per OpenAI’s announcement, businesses can generate advertising campaigns by writing a few natural-language prompts in ChatGPT Work. The system can turn a website URL or short brief into campaign elements such as targeting and creative starting points, lowering the barrier for smaller advertisers and speeding larger teams.

Ads Manager gains AI creative tools, and ChatGPT gets an Ads Manager plugin.

OpenAI is making Ads Manager more powerful with AI assistance for ad creation — suggested copy and imagery based on a landing page and campaign objective, with advertisers reviewing and editing before anything goes live. Separately, advertisers can create, update, and analyze campaigns with natural-language prompts in ChatGPT via the Ads Manager plugin, including performance readouts and recommendations.

HubSpot and Shopify integrations connect ChatGPT Ads to existing business software.
HubSpot is OpenAI’s first CRM partner for ChatGPT Ads; Shopify is the first ecommerce partner, with a ChatGPT Ads app for U.S. merchants. Both integrations are designed to keep campaign work inside tools businesses already use.

The updates build on earlier advertising expansion.
OpenAI first tested ads in ChatGPT earlier this year and has since added self-serve tools, performance measurement, and cost-per-click pricing. The September 16 package embeds AI assistance across the workflow while keeping advertiser approval on creative decisions.
