Snap has opened preorders for its $2,195 standalone AR Specs glasses that ship this fall in three countries. The launch fulfills a years-long push into consumer augmented reality after the company’s 2016 Spectacles debut and represents its bet on post-smartphone computing.

The company describes them as “a wearable computer built into see-through augmented reality glasses” that operate without any external puck or tether.
The product lands between lightweight smart glasses such as Meta’s popular Ray-Ban models and higher-end headsets such as Apple’s Vision Pro, which has struggled to gain traction.
