Digital Extremes opens Soulframe's free alpha playtest, Soulframe Open Preludes, to all Windows PC players on Friday, November 6, ending invite-only access. The Verse of the Veilands update follows later in November with Omen Wolf mounts, a new world progression system and fishing.

Digital Extremes will open Soulframe's early alpha playtest to PC players worldwide on Friday, November 6, the studio announced on October 30.
The hunter and poacher-type class tied to the alien Ode race lets players tie enemies with a sci-fi bola, pierce them with spikes, and launch them with a balloon.
No invitation is needed. Soulframe Open Preludes is a free alpha playtest of the Warframe developer's fantasy action RPG, downloaded from the official Soulframe website for Windows PC. Access had been invite-only since the first Preludes builds. Players can sign up on the site before it opens.

Verse of the Veilands arrives later in November. The next Preludes update adds the Omen Wolf mount system, a new environmental world progression system and fishing features. PC Gamer reports that the open landmass Midrath will be corrupted and players must bring it back to life. Creative director Geoff Crookes told PC Gamer players will "enter a game that is much more unforgiving and harsh at first glance."
