Tesla Hikes Select Model Y Prices for First Time in Two Years
Tesla has raised prices on mid- and high-end Model Y trims for the first time in two years, with increases of $500 to $1,000 plus new paint options. The adjustments follow recent Cybertruck lease hikes, coincide with fresh safety honors, and may clear space for the upcoming three-row Model Y L.

The changes affect the mid-tier and higher trims, while entry-level models stay the same. Tesla watcher Sawyer Merritt noted the updates. The base Rear-Wheel Drive Model Y remains $39,990 and the entry All-Wheel Drive holds at $41,990.
Premium variants saw the biggest moves. The Premium Rear-Wheel Drive rose $1,000 to $45,990. The Premium All-Wheel Drive climbed $1,000 to $49,990. The Performance model increased $500 to $57,990.
The adjustments follow Tesla’s recent Cybertruck lease price increase and coincide with new paint options. Premium trims now offer Marine Blue, while Performance models gain an exclusive Frost Blue shade. The Model Y recently became the first vehicle to pass the NHTSA’s updated advanced driver assistance tests.
The moves may also prepare the lineup for the upcoming three-row Model Y L. A six-seat version has been spotted testing on U.S. roads and a camouflaged unit appeared at Gigafactory Texas. By lifting the current Premium floor near $46,000, Tesla appears to be making room for the longer-wheelbase model near the $50,000 mark as inventory turns over ahead of a busier second half.
