Apple reintroduces AI-powered Siri at WWDC 2026
Apple has brought back the AI-powered Siri first shown at WWDC 2024. At WWDC 2026 the company demonstrated a new version now called Siri AI.

Apple partners with Google for the rebuilt assistant. The company has partnered with Google to rebuild Apple Intelligence and Siri on top of Google's Gemini models. This was announced at the start of the year.

Siri AI integrates with iPhone Dynamic Island. On the iPhone the new Siri lives inside the device's Dynamic Island. Dynamic Island debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022 and later came to the regular iPhone in 2023.

Users can wake the assistant by saying "Siri" or holding down the power button. Apple has added a new swipe gesture that involves pulling down from the top center of the device.

New interface supports multiple actions. The swipe gesture brings up a new "Search or Ask" interface. This allows users to open apps, start text messaging, add calendar appointments and search through notes.
Users can adjust the pace and expressivity of Siri's new voice with individual sliders for each.

Responses appear as interactive cards. When returning a response Siri displays an interactive card that pops out of the Dynamic Island. Users can swipe down on the popup to open a larger window where they can ask further questions.

Voice gains natural tone and controls. As part of the redesign Apple says it has made the assistant's voice more natural. Users can adjust the pace and expressivity of Siri's new voice with individual sliders for each.
