Ford recalls 42,784 Mustang Mach-E over rear differential fault

Ford is recalling 42,784 Mustang Mach-E vehicles in the U.S. because a pinion shaft inside the rear differential unit may fracture and cause loss of drive power or unintended movement. The action is part of a larger filing that also covers 110,626 Mustang vehicles for wiper and differential issues, with dealers required to fix the parts at no charge.

Ford recalls 42,784 Mustang Mach-E vehicles in the U.S. The recall addresses a potential fracture in the rear differential pinion shaft. The issue may cause loss of drive power or unintended movement when the vehicle is parked without the parking brake. Dealers will repair or replace the parts at no cost.

Ford is recalling 42,784 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles in the U.S. because the pinion shaft inside the rear differential unit may fracture. The defect can result in loss of drive power or unintended movement if the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied.

The recall covers two separate actions on Mustang models. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that Ford is recalling 110,626 Mustang vehicles in the U.S. in two separate recalls. One addresses malfunctioning windshield wipers while the other targets the rear differential pinion shaft that may fracture.

The Mustang Mach-E recall stands apart from the internal-combustion Mustang actions. NHTSA stated that the 42,784 Mach-E vehicles are affected solely by the rear differential pinion shaft issue.

The announcement comes from a Reuters report published by WTVB on the same day as the NHTSA disclosure. Ford has not issued its own statement in the filing cited by the agency.
Owners of affected Mustang Mach-E vehicles should monitor for official recall notices from Ford. The free repair program applies to all vehicles confirmed in the NHTSA filing.

CISA Adds Actively Exploited Microsoft Entra ID Flaw to KEV Catalog

CISA added the actively exploited CVE-2026-69836 deserialization vulnerability in Microsoft Entra ID to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-08-21 with a federal remediation deadline of 2026-08-24. The CVSS 10.0 flaw, already mitigated server-side by Microsoft, allows unauthenticated remote code execution and requires no customer action.

Samsung to Return Up to $80 Billion to Shareholders in 2026

Samsung Electronics expects 90 trillion won to 110 trillion won available for shareholder returns in 2026, labeling the amount the largest ever by a Korean company. The disclosure follows SK Hynix's buyback announcement and reflects the windfall from AI-fueled memory chip sales.

Apple Music Will Require and Display Made With AI Labels

Apple will apply visible Made With AI labels to songs materially generated using AI on Apple Music, making required Transparency Tags mandatory for material AI use. The change addresses the fact that more than a third of monthly uploads are 100% AI-generated while such tracks represent less than 0.5% of listening.
