Gemini Launches First AI Agent Trading on U.S. Exchange
Gemini launches Agentic Trading, enabling AI models like Claude and ChatGPT to execute automated trades directly on the regulated U.S. exchange. It marks the first such integration via the open Model Context Protocol, with pre-built skills for market data and analysis.

The platform integrates with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that gives AI agents direct API access to execute actions. Gemini connects its entire trading API to MCP, allowing AI models to use all exchange features.
Users connect MCP-compatible AI models, including Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT, to automate strategies from simple buy and sell orders to complex multi-leg trades. Pre-built Trading Skills modules include Get Market Data for real-time prices, Find the Spread for bid-ask analysis, and Retrieve Candles for historical data.
"We believe we're at the beginning of a fundamental shift in how people interact with financial markets," Gemini writes in a blog post. "Agentic trading isn't just a feature. It's a new paradigm where AI handles the execution, patterns, and discipline, while you focus on strategy and goals."
Gemini positions the launch amid its push into AI efficiency after slashing 25% of its workforce in February and refocusing on the U.S. market.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.
Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.
