GM recalls 14,540 Cadillac Vistiq SUVs because the power third-row seats may not reverse when obstructed and can trap passengers. This affects all 2026 and some 2027 models produced by June 2026. The issue raises injury risks for occupants, especially children, and GM will fix the modules at no cost.

GM has halted shipments and recalled nearly 15,000 Cadillac Vistiq electric SUVs after discovering that their power third-row seats can malfunction and trap passengers.

GM notified NHTSA of the defect on June 18, 2026. In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM stated that a person, especially a child, may be trapped by a rear powered seatback, increasing the risk of injury. The recall covers exactly 14,540 vehicles, consisting of 13,629 model-year 2026 units and 911 model-year 2027 units.
In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM stated that a person, especially a child, may be trapped by a rear powered seatback, increasing the risk of injury.

All affected vehicles are estimated to contain the defect. They were built between Nov. 12, 2024 and June 15, 2026. The issue mirrors a prior problem reported with the Hyundai Palisade.

Production timing shaped the recall's scope. According to Car and Driver, 2026 production was already completed when the issue was discovered, while 2027 model-year shipments were paused on June 8, 2026. Cadillac issued a Stop Delivery order that disables the third-row folding function.

The mechanical failure involves seatback reversal. GM Authority reports that the third-row seatback may not automatically reverse if it encounters an obstruction. GM recall number N262555780 identifies the faulty power third-row seating module as the root cause.
The issue mirrors a prior problem reported with the Hyundai Palisade.

Dealers will replace the module at no cost. USA Today reports that dealers will replace the third-row folding seat module free of charge. GM has already stopped deliveries to prevent new vehicles with the defect from reaching customers.
The recall affects 100 percent of the targeted population. Owners of affected Vistiqs should monitor for further communications from GM or their dealers as the remedy becomes available.

Microsoft accelerates Quantum Safe Program to 2029

Microsoft has moved its Quantum Safe Program target to 2029 because cryptographically relevant quantum computers could arrive sooner than previously expected. The update underscores the need for organizations to begin preparing now against harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks and future quantum decryption threats.

French Court Clears Amazon Leo Satellite Internet

The Council of State has rejected a CFE-CGC union appeal, clearing Amazon Leo to offer satellite internet in France under a 10-year frequency authorization granted by Arcep in July 2025. The ruling removes the final legal hurdle for the Starlink rival as it prepares to launch commercially in the country, with initial service expected later in 2026 once the satellite count supports it.

TeraWulf Signs $19B Anthropic Lease for 401MW AI Campus

TeraWulf signed a 20-year lease with Anthropic for a 401 MW AI data center campus in Kentucky expected to generate $19 billion in revenue, while selling its Texas JV stake for $530 million. The deal validates TeraWulf's pivot from crypto mining to AI infrastructure and sent shares up more than 16% in premarket trading.
