Google on Thursday rolled out the Gemini 3.7 Flash artificial intelligence model, pairing the launch with a 50% cut in token usage prices that will last through the end of the year.

Google halves token pricing to spur adoption. The company is reducing token usage prices by 50% until the end of the year. The new introductory rates set the cost at $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.

This move reportedly seeks to boost developer uptake of the latest release.

The release comes at a turbulent time for Google’s AI division.

Gemini 3.7 Flash launches. The new model is now available in 160 countries via Google’s developer platforms. It is immediately accessible through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, Google Antigravity and Gemini Enterprise.

The rollout follows just three weeks after the prior update.

New model improves coding and document analysis. The version delivers upgraded performance in coding, web development, document analysis and automated agent execution. It demonstrates greater adaptability when encountering obstacles and is better able to follow complex instructions with fewer retries.

Within the main Gemini app, the new model powers the intelligent Gemini Spark agent, though access is not universal. It requires an AI Pro or Ultra subscription; free users and AI Plus subscribers will continue using Gemini 3.6 Flash for the time being.

Gemini 3.5 Pro, which had been teased in previous hints, has still not been released amid rumors that the company may skip it entirely in favor of moving directly to Gemini 4.

Safety mechanisms receive stricter safeguards. Google updated the model’s safety mechanisms alongside the performance gains. The system now includes stricter safeguards against cyber threats and the misuse of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) materials.

DeepMind leadership change coincides with release. The release comes at a turbulent time for Google’s AI division. Google DeepMind recently underwent a leadership change in which CEO Demis Hassabis stepped aside for Koray Kavukcuoglu.

Gemini 3.5 Pro, which had been teased in previous hints, has still not been released amid rumors that the company may skip it entirely in favor of moving directly to Gemini 4.
