Microsoft drops Copilot branding from Notepad preview
Microsoft removes the Copilot button from the latest Notepad preview, version 11.2512.28.0. The button now appears as a pen icon labeled "writing tools," which opens the same AI writing functionality.

The change affects built-in Windows apps including Snipping Tool, Photos, Widgets, and Notepad, following community feedback. Snipping Tool already lacks its Copilot button, while Photos, Widgets, and Notepad are expected to follow suit, as reported by VideoCardz.

In a Windows Blog post last month, Pavan Davuluri states, "You will see us be more intentional about how and where Copilot integrates across Windows" and "As part of this, we are reducing unnecessary Copilot entry points."
Microsoft retains the AI tools in these apps despite the branding reduction.

GameStop CEO Forgoes $35B Bonus to Pursue eBay Takeover

GameStop has withdrawn Ryan Cohen's potential $35 billion performance bonus so the CEO can concentrate on acquiring eBay. The decision follows eBay's swift rejection of a $55 billion bid in May and precedes the planned release of additional strategic materials this week.

GTA 6 to use PS5 DualSense features, confirmed PS5 Pro enhanced

Sony and Rockstar Games have detailed several PS5 hardware features that Grand Theft Auto 6 will use exclusively, while confirming the title is PS5 Pro Enhanced without revealing specifics. The announcement doubles as a marketing drive to convert lingering PS4 owners to PlayStation 5 ahead of the game's release.

Valve Opens SteamOS 3.8 to All PC Hardware

Valve has released SteamOS 3.8, enabling anyone to install the operating system on custom PC hardware to create their own Steam Machine. The update expands compatibility beyond AMD-only setups and brings the console-like experience to desktop builds, though Nvidia support remains in development.
