Netflix uses generative AI workflows in roughly 300 shows and films during 2026. Its Q2 shareholder letter reports the figure and notes use for complex sequences in three productions. The tools deliver higher quality output faster and cheaper than traditional methods, though human oversight remains essential for integration.

The streaming service has turned to generative AI tools in roughly 300 titles during 2026, according to its latest financial disclosure.

Netflix details its AI usage in Q2 shareholder letter. The company reported the total in the shareholder letter covering its second-quarter results released on July 16, 2026. It highlighted three productions that relied on the technology "to create highly complex sequences": Glory (India), Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri (Brazil) and The American Experiment (US).
While generative AI can generate material far faster than visual-effects crews or animators, skilled professionals must still refine the output so it integrates properly with the surrounding footage.

The platform had already incorporated generative AI into at least one original series by July 2025. Netflix has since pursued acquisitions and opened dedicated studios to broaden its use of these systems.
