A New York court grants Take-Two permission to subpoena Microsoft and Discord to identify the CYBERLEEK group members who leaked Grand Theft Auto 6 footage. The company targets user records from both platforms along with GitHub to stop the distribution of the unauthorized gameplay material. Xbox pledges full support for the intellectual property protection.

A New York court has granted Take-Two Interactive permission to issue subpoenas targeting Microsoft and Discord as the company works to identify individuals reportedly connected to the hacking group CYBERLEEK that distributed unauthorized Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage.

The court granted Take-Two's ex parte application for a subpoena to Discord. The order directs the clerk to issue a subpoena requiring Discord to produce the identity of entities or persons believed to be infringing on the copyright of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Court documents indicate the company wants user information connected to posts appearing on Discord and GitHub.
Its site later indicated openness to advertising deals in upcoming leaks, reportedly requesting up to $164,000 in cryptocurrency simply to open discussions on those terms.

Stephen Totilo of Game File shared a screenshot of the granted subpoenas on Bluesky.

Take-Two is also pursuing records from Microsoft in the investigation. Approved requests target data from both Microsoft and Discord to help identify alleged GTA 6 leakers. The action marks the latest twist in one of the industry's most prominent current stories.
