Solana devs align on Falcon signatures vs quantum threats

Solana developer teams Anza and Jump Crypto’s Firedancer select the Falcon digital signature scheme to counter quantum computing threats. The Solana Foundation announces this alignment in a blog post, noting early implementations underway. Falcon resists quantum attacks while matching Solana’s high-speed design. Quantum risks stay years away, prompting a phased roadmap for wallets with no immediate changes.

Two core Solana developer teams, Anza and Jump Crypto’s Firedancer, have independently selected the Falcon digital signature scheme to counter future quantum computing risks.

The Solana Foundation outlines this alignment in a new blog post, noting that the teams have already begun building early implementations. Falcon withstands quantum attacks while fitting Solana’s high-speed, low-latency design, the foundation states.

Quantum threats remain years away, according to the foundation, which describes its phased roadmap as well-researched and ready. The plan covers continued Falcon research, post-quantum schemes for new wallets, and eventual migration of existing ones, with no immediate changes.
Solana highlights ecosystem efforts like Blueshift’s Winternitz Vault, a quantum-resistant tool live for over two years and recently cited by Google Quantum AI. Any migration aims to avoid significant performance impacts.

Micron posted fiscal Q3 revenue of $41.46 billion that more than quadrupled year-over-year while beating estimates on AI-driven memory demand. Results featured 16 long-term customer pacts carrying $22 billion in commitments plus current-quarter guidance of about $50 billion.

Binance Abandons Greek Bid for MiCA License

Binance has withdrawn its MiCA license application in Greece and will pursue authorization in another EU country instead. The decision comes days before a July 1 deadline that could force the exchange to shut down operations for millions of users across the bloc if it lacks a license in at least one member state.

SK Hynix to issue $29B in new shares for Nasdaq ADR listing

SK Hynix approved issuance of new shares worth about $29.4 billion on June 24 to fund its American Depositary Receipts listing on Nasdaq. The July 10 debut aims to strengthen the company's capital base as AI server demand drives memory chip growth.
