SpaceX is offering a free hardware upgrade to some of Starlink's earliest customers who are still using the original circular dish, according to a new Starlink support page and PCMag.

A new Standard kit at no cost. "Eligible customers who were among the first to connect with Starlink, and who are still using a first-generation kit, can receive a new Standard kit at no cost," Starlink says. PCMag reports the replacement is the Standard 4X (V4) dish and comes with a Router 3, power supply, cables and a mount. Customers can also choose free installation at their home.

Invite-only. Starlink says eligible customers will receive an invitation by email. PCMag reports that SpaceX has already begun emailing some early subscribers.

The old dish stops working. The current Starlink will be deactivated when the new one comes online or 14 days after delivery, whichever comes first, and cannot be transferred after that. Customers do not need to return it.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.
