Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirms the November 19, 2026 release date for Grand Theft Auto 6, marking the third such confirmation after prior delays from 2025. This update matters as the game stands among the most anticipated releases of its generation and the franchise represents one of entertainment's most valuable intellectual properties.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again reaffirmed the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6. Zelnick stated the game remains set to launch on November 19, 2026. This marks the third confirmation of the date for a title described as the most anticipated game of its generation.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was initially slated for release in 2025. It was then pushed to May of 2026 and delayed again with the release date set for November 19, 2026. Back in April at the iicon event for industry executives, Zelnick said many people would be calling in sick on November 19. He is now reaffirming the release date with even more assurance than before.

Speaking to David Senra, Zelnick confidently stated that he knows when GTA 6 will release: November 19. When asked about how many times the game has been pushed back, Zelnick said, "I think were about 18 months behind the original date. Not much more than that."

Zelnick addressed whether the Grand Theft Auto franchise is the most successful gaming IP of all time. He said the answer depends on the qualifiers but added that GTA is believed to be the most valuable entertainment IP ever created. "I think so, but it depends on how you count. I think if you counted every Mario Kart, Call of Duty, and a bunch of others, its not entirely clear. But I think in terms of the value of the IP, most people believe it is the most valuable entertainment IP ever created," said Zelnick.

The CEO also discussed Grand Theft Auto 5 and why the company does not disclose its total revenue. Zelnick said, "Its a lot," before explaining the game's replay value and longevity. "The reason people keep playing is because its constantly updated and its really great. And the most recent content pack was awesome," he continued.
