Auroch Digital said it has begun a redundancy consultation affecting around a quarter of roles; it gave no headcount and says Boltgun 2 and Warhammer Survivors support will continue.

Auroch Digital, the Bristol studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, said it has begun a redundancy consultation process affecting around a quarter of roles at the studio, according to a statement the studio posted on X on Monday.

This is a consultation, not a finished cut. Auroch's statement describes a consultation process, which means the outcome is not final. The studio did not give a headcount and did not say how many people would leave.

Why the studio says it is restructuring. Auroch said it is restructuring "to work through a turbulent and uncertain time in our industry," adding that the market conditions that have challenged other developers have now affected it too. The studio said it is "deeply sorry for the position we are now in" and asked other studios that are hiring to consider its staff.

Games will keep getting support. Auroch said development and post-launch support for Warhammer Survivors and Boltgun 2 will continue. Warhammer Survivors launches Nov. 10. The statement also pointed to the reception for Boltgun 2 and Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!
