The new variant stretches Tesla’s best-selling SUV. Engineers extended the wheelbase by 150 mm to reach 3,040 mm total and added roughly 180 mm to the vehicle’s overall length. Those gains create enough interior volume for an additional row of seats.
Instead of installing a cramped seven-seat bench, the automaker fitted independent captain’s chairs in the middle row.
Model Y L adopts a 2+2+2 seating layout with premium second-row features. Instead of installing a cramped seven-seat bench, the automaker fitted independent captain’s chairs in the middle row. Those seats offer heating, ventilation, powered armrests and a one-touch fold function. The rearmost row includes heated seats, power recline and child-seat anchors.
Tesla has not released further details on powertrain options or driving range for this initial series. The Launch Series represents the opening phase of the extended SUV’s availability in the targeted markets.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.

Stellantis Drops Hybrid, Combustion for Future 2CV and Small EVs

Stellantis will offer its future 2CV-inspired small city cars exclusively as electric models, dropping previously promised hybrid and combustion options. The move, set for 2028 launch at under €15,000, is driven by development costs and new EU CO2 calculation rules that favor small EVs.

Amazon Leo reaches 396 satellites after Atlas 5 launch

Amazon Leo has reached 396 operational satellites after its final Atlas 5 launch, clearing the way for initial commercial broadband service later in 2026. The network will compete with Starlink in limited latitudes at first while scaling toward full deployment by mid-2029.

Infineon Launches €5 Billion Chip Facility in Dresden

Infineon opened its €5 billion ($5.7 billion) Smart Power Fab in Dresden on July 2, 2026, three months early. The EU-supported factory will make power-management chips for electric vehicles, renewable energy and AI data centres while advancing Europe's target of doubling its global semiconductor share to 20 percent by 2030. Construction began in May 2023.
