Tides of Annihilation casts Angela Sant'Albano as the new voice of Gwendolyn after Jennifer English's departure for health reasons. Eclipse Glow Games announced the recast at gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 with a trailer showing the updated protagonist in Arthurian action-RPG combat.

Tides of Annihilation has cast Angela Sant'Albano, known for voicing Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, as the new voice of protagonist Gwendolyn. Eclipse Glow Games announced the recast at gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 alongside a new trailer for the Arthurian action-RPG.

The announcement follows Jennifer English's departure. English, recognized for her award-winning performance as Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and as Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3, stepped away from the role in June due to personal health reasons. She agreed to support the project in an advisory capacity and assist in finding her replacement. The change was first hinted at in a recent gameplay demo from Shanghai that featured a different appearance and voice for Gwendolyn.
The game reimagines the myth in present-day London with over-the-top combat inspired by Inception, The Matrix, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, and Stellar Blade.

Sant'Albano expressed enthusiasm for the character. "I am beyond thrilled—and deeply honored—to officially announce that I’m stepping into the role of Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation," Sant'Albano said in a statement. She described Gwendolyn as a heroine who carries self-doubt yet refuses to let fear stop her, driven by love for her sister and homeland. Sant'Albano highlighted the privilege of facing otherworldly demigods and commanding Knights of the Round Table.

The trailer showcases Gwendolyn's story and combat. It depicts a distraught Gwendolyn considering her new reality amidst the ash of a ruinous London. She is encouraged by the legendary Guinevere to harness the power of the Fog, a power once wielded only by King Arthur, to save London and the realm of Avalon from annihilation. Gwendolyn takes up the sword and fights alongside powerful spectral knights, with the trailer debuting Sir Lancelot summoned to dispatch enemies in spectacular style.
