CATL signs record 60 GWh sodium-ion deal
CATL signed a 60 GWh sodium-ion battery deal with HyperStrong, the largest such order ever. The agreement signals maturity in sodium-ion mass production and expands a prior 200 GWh commitment.

The three-year agreement equals half of all energy storage batteries CATL delivered in 2025. CATL calls the deal proof that it has overcome challenges of the entire sodium-ion battery mass production chain.
Industry observers describe it as a potential “DeepSeek moment” for the global energy storage industry. CATL and Beijing HyperStrong Technology announced the strategic cooperation on April 27.
The partnership covers technology research and development, product application, and project implementation for energy storage projects. It builds on a November 2025 framework agreement under which HyperStrong committed to procuring 200 GWh of battery cells from CATL from 2026 to 2035.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.
Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.
