Reuters, TechCrunch and multiple outlets corroborate Guidewire's Oct 27 announcement of the up-to-$2.1B hyperexponential acquisition.
via Claimsjournal
Guidewire said Oct. 27 it signed a definitive agreement to buy London-based hyperexponential, an AI underwriting and pricing software provider for commercial insurers, for $1.7 billion in cash plus up to $400 million tied to recurring-revenue targets. Guidewire plans to fund the deal with $1 billion in new term loans from Bank of America and Citibank plus cash on hand. It expects the deal to close in its fiscal second quarter of 2027 and to have no impact on its first-quarter guidance.

Guidewire will expand its insurance software with AI underwriting tools.
The combined offering will let AI agents assist underwriters in assessing risk, setting prices and making decisions.
