Tesla Semi Rolls Off High-Volume Line at Nevada
Tesla produces the first Semi truck from its high-volume production line at Gigafactory Nevada. The milestone follows years of delays and design refinements for the 2017-unveiled electric truck.

The automaker shares an image of the truck on its official Tesla Semi account on X. This confirms volume production now under way at the dedicated 1.7-million-square-foot factory.
The Tesla Semi, first unveiled in 2017, faced repeated delays from an original 2019 production target, slipping to 2020, 2021, and 2022. Tesla delivered a handful of hand-built units to PepsiCo in late 2022 on a pilot line.
Over the next three years, Tesla refines the design and cuts roughly 1,000 lbs from the truck. The company builds out a dedicated factory adjacent to Gigafactory Nevada in Sparks and reveals final production specs in February: a Standard Range trim with 325 miles at full 82,000-lb gross combination weight and a Long Range trim with 500 miles.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.
Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.
