Where Winds Meet Launches on Xbox With Game Pass Perks
Where Winds Meet is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud and as a Play Anywhere title with exclusive Game Pass Ultimate perks. The launch includes a first look at the Hidden Mountain expansion and arrives after the game reached more than 80 million players since its initial release.

Where Winds Meet enters the Xbox ecosystem today. The free-to-play Wuxia open-world ARPG is out now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, cloud and supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members receive an exclusive perks bundle to join the Jianghu.

The title first launched last November and has since welcomed over 80 million players worldwide while releasing two major expansions. The Xbox debut marks the next phase for the game’s community.

The game is set in 10th-century China. Players take on the role of a young wanderer during the twilight of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The story focuses on uncovering personal identity, navigating shifting alliances and forging a legend amid danger and intrigue.

Combat and progression offer full player freedom. Users can master close-quarters battles with weapons such as swords, dual blades, glaives, umbrellas and fans. Legendary martial arts skills including Lion’s Roar, Acupuncture Hitting and Tai Chi can be unlocked for further customization.

Beyond fighting, players shape the world as a doctor, merchant, assassin or bounty hunter. Options include experiencing the narrative solo, engaging in seamless co-op or competing in PvP battles.
Hidden Mountain expansion receives first reveal. The upcoming third major expansion after Hexi and Imperial Palace introduces a mountainous region with deep multi-layered 3D verticality. The design rewards exploration at every elevation and features the secretive Mohist sect along with new mysteries, gameplay, martial arts mechanics and narrative twists.
The base game has been optimized for console play with Smart Delivery, overhauled UI, enlarged text scaling, full HDR support and AMD FSR 2 upscaling. Xbox Series X delivers a 4K upscale from 1080p while Series S receives its own tuned version. The publisher states the living-room experience has been fully tuned so players never miss dialogue or inventory details from the couch.
