Wizz Air will equip its entire fleet with Starlink satellite internet from 2027, becoming the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to offer the service. Installation starts next year. Rivals Ryanair and EasyJet have skipped the option over high costs, which Ryanair estimates at up to 250 million dollars a year including extra fuel.

Wizz Air will offer Starlink satellite internet across its entire fleet starting in 2027, becoming the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to do so.

Wizz Air partners with Starlink for in-flight connectivity. The budget airline announced the deal on Monday but did not disclose its terms with SpaceX's Starlink. Installation of the high-speed, low-latency hardware is scheduled to begin next year.
The move positions Wizz Air ahead of European budget rivals that have cited high costs as a barrier.

Budget carriers flag significant expenses for Starlink. Ryanair and EasyJet have previously flagged that offering Starlink's in-flight Wi-Fi comes with significant cost challenges. Ryanair's Michael O'Leary estimated that using Starlink would cost Ryanair up to $250 million a year, including extra fuel.

Starlink expands airline partnerships globally. Starlink has signed deals with several American carriers including American Airlines, Southwest, United and Alaska. It has also partnered with long-haul carriers such as Singapore Airlines and Emirates.

Wizz Air reports passenger growth amid earnings outlook. In May, Wizz Air said it expects to break even or achieve slightly positive full-year earnings for its 2026 financial year that ended March 31. The airline reported 26% passenger growth in May and forecast strong revenue growth for the summer season as its relatively lower prices offset consumer uncertainty linked to the Iran war. It will report its full-year results on Thursday.

Apple expands App Store bundles to include third-party subscriptions

Apple is expanding App Store bundles to include subscriptions from different companies and introducing Suites that combine subscriptions unavailable on their own. The changes, announced at WWDC alongside iOS 27, will roll out later this year with more details expected this summer.

EU Orders Meta to Restore Rival AI Access to WhatsApp

The European Commission ordered Meta to restore rival AI chatbots' access to the WhatsApp Business API under pre-ban terms within five days. The move escalates an antitrust investigation into whether Meta abused its dominance by reserving AI features for itself, with potential fines up to 10% of global revenue.

Anthropic releases public Mythos-class Claude Fable 5

Anthropic has released Claude Fable 5 as its first publicly available Mythos-class model, which it describes as exceeding any prior generally available model on nearly all benchmarks. The release includes conservative safeguards that redirect some queries to Claude Opus 4.8, while a less-restricted Mythos 5 version stays limited to select cyberdefenders.
