Excelerate Energy said on November 5 that it has signed an 11-year liquefied natural gas supply agreement with AxDo Bahamas to support a planned hub near Grand Bahama.

The agreement covers up to 16 trillion British thermal units a year. Excelerate said AxDo will be an anchor customer of a planned offshore storage and distribution terminal near Grand Bahama. Deliveries are for up to 16 trillion British thermal units of LNG a year. AxDo is a joint venture of Axpo and Domicisle LNG, and Excelerate said it was established in October 2026 for small-scale LNG and bunkering in the region.
The Bahamas LNG Hub demonstrates the potential of our integrated platform to create new opportunities around our infrastructure.

First deliveries are expected in 2027. Excelerate said initial LNG deliveries are expected to begin in 2027 using existing supply and logistics from its Jamaica platform. A second phase is expected to include a floating storage unit near Grand Bahama in 2028, subject to final permitting, construction timelines, and other contractual provisions. The company said that unit would serve as the offshore storage and distribution terminal.

The hub is planned, not yet built. Excelerate said the Bahamas LNG Hub is intended to support LNG demand in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean, including marine bunkering, power generation, and other downstream customers. It said Grand Bahama sits in one of the Caribbean's busiest maritime corridors.
This agreement represents an important step forward for The Bahamas and for the development of a reliable LNG supply network across our islands.
Executives at the companies described the signing. Oliver Simpson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Excelerate Energy, said: "The Bahamas LNG Hub demonstrates the potential of our integrated platform to create new opportunities around our infrastructure." Greg Buffington, chief executive of Domicisle LNG, said: "This agreement represents an important step forward for The Bahamas and for the development of a reliable LNG supply network across our islands."

The companies framed the agreement as a commercial base for the project. Excelerate said the combination of AxDo's shipping and bunkering work with its own LNG infrastructure is intended to help meet growing demand. Daniele Corti, Axpo's head of small-scale LNG, said the agreement lets Axpo apply its supply-chain experience in the Caribbean with Excelerate and Domicisle.

The Circuitry is a passion project I've always wanted to build, and I love the work behind it.

Running it costs real money. APIs, hosting, time. To keep improving the site and growing this into something useful for everyone, those costs have to be covered.

Any contribution is appreciated. If not, no pressure. Thanks for reading.
