Nintendo Launches Pictonico! Photo Game on Smartphones

Nintendo has launched Pictonico!, a smartphone game that generates mini-games from user photos instead of releasing on the Nintendo Switch. It blends WarioWare-style play with personal photo galleries across more than 80 games sold in paid volumes, with potential for more if successful.

Nintendo Launches Pictonico! Photo Game on Smartphones
TL;DRAI · 60 sec read

Nintendo launches Pictonico! a smartphone game on the App Store and Google Play. It generates mini-games from users' personal photos and offers over 80 titles in paid volumes for 7.99 and 5.99 euros. A free demo is available to try before purchase. The title shows Nintendo experimenting with unusual mobile concepts.

Nintendo is launching a brand new video game and it is not coming out on Nintendo Switch. Pictonico! offers to use the photos from your smartphones to create games. The concept is unusual for the video game sector and centers on incorporating personal photos into play.

There is the somewhat staid Nintendo, which does not take too many risks by launching sequels and remakes, and there is the somewhat maverick Nintendo. The one that releases games with improbable concepts, sometimes wacky, out of step with the rest of the video game sector. This launch represents the company's maverick approach.
Pictonico is in a sense the union of WarioWare and your photo gallery.

It is this second Nintendo that is behind the launch of “Pictonico!”. The manufacturer is launching a smartphone application/game with a concept that could quickly make the rounds on social networks. The idea focuses on using personal photos in gameplay.

Pictonico is in a sense the union of WarioWare and your photo gallery. Nintendo is in fact offering to generate mini-games from your favorite photos. More than 80 games are integrated in the first version of Pictonico to provide substantial content from the start.

The game is available as of today on the App Store and on the Google Play Store. The download is free and includes a demonstration, but the game itself is paid. This structure allows users to test before purchasing the full experience.

The 80 games presented are integrated in the form of paid volumes. The first volume includes 50 games for 7.99 euros, and the second volume, 30 games for 5.99 euros. These volumes allow access to different sets of the mini-games.
There is the somewhat staid Nintendo, which does not take too many risks by launching sequels and remakes, and there is the somewhat maverick Nintendo.

We imagine that if Pictonico is a success, Nintendo could add new volumes in the future. This would enable the company to continue expanding the title based on its reception.
