ARC Raiders Next Major Update Delayed to October as Embark Shifts Cadence

Embark Studios will release ARC Raiders major updates only twice per year starting with Frozen Trail in October, while maintaining regular live-service support. The shift aims to enable larger changes to maps, systems, and narrative after monthly updates proved unsustainable.

ARC Raiders Next Major Update Delayed to October as Embark Shifts Cadence
TL;DRAI · 60 sec read

Embark Studios delays ARC Raiders' next major update to October and shifts from monthly to bi-annual releases. Monthly drops prove unsustainable, allowing larger updates that refine core systems for long-term engagement. Frozen Trail adds the biggest map, new operations and enemies, redesigned skills, weapons, items, and ARC lore. Live-service team handles daily fixes and events.

Embark Studios announced that the next major update for ARC Raiders will arrive in October rather than following the monthly schedule maintained since the game's October 2025 release. The studio described monthly content drops as unsustainable and stated that future major updates will occur twice per year instead.

In a social media post, Embark explained the change is intended to deliver larger-scale updates that meaningfully alter gameplay. A dedicated live-service team will continue handling day-to-day operations, including balance fixes, bug fixes, store updates, and player events. The first update under the new cadence is titled Frozen Trail and is described as the largest addition since launch.

Frozen Trail will add an entirely new landscape that forms the biggest map in ARC Raiders to date. It will also introduce a new ARC operation with unique and challenging enemies, replace the existing skill system with a redesigned version, and reveal information about the ARC's origins. New weapons, items, and instruments will accompany these changes.

The studio emphasized that the updates are not merely additive but will refine core systems to support long-term engagement. Progression adjustments and expansions to the Expedition Project are planned as part of this effort. Beginning next week, a new late-game trader will be introduced in Speranza, representing a nomadic surface tribe and offering rare items, cosmetics, and expanded stash space in exchange for high-value goods.
Embark stated that the bi-annual schedule allows more intentional development across gameplay, narrative, and world-building. The team described the move as the start of broader ambitions for ARC Raiders rather than a reduction in support.
