Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced Deluxe Edition tops PS5 pre-order charts in the US and UK two days after listings go live. It outsells 007 First Light, Saros, and LEGO Batman: Legacy—weeks from launch—despite its July 2026 release. UK base edition ranks third; US fourth. PS5 owners show strong demand for Ubisoft's remake of a series highlight.

The Deluxe Edition of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced tops pre-order charts on the PS Store in both the UK and USA, just two days after listings went live, according to Push Square.

Push Square reports the pricier Deluxe Edition outsells 007 First Light, Saros, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight—titles weeks from launch—despite the remake's July 9, 2026 release. In the UK, the base version ranks third; in the USA, it sits fourth as Saros performs stronger there.

The Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with a Master Assassin Character Pack—containing an Edward costume, sword, pistol, and trinket with unique perks—and a Master Assassin Naval Pack, featuring a sail set, ship's pet, crew attire, wheel, figurehead, and hull trim.
Push Square notes PS5 owners show strong demand for Ubisoft's remake of one of the series' best entries.

Bungie Begins Layoffs After Destiny 2's Final Update

Bungie has started laying off staff after Destiny 2's final update. The studio cited an internal reorganization and said it could not sustain its former size despite continued Marathon support through at least the end of 2026. Future projects remain in early incubation.

Sony sells region-locked PS5 at a loss to expand its Japanese audience

Sony Interactive Entertainment is selling its region-locked PS5 at a loss as a strategic investment to grow PlayStation users in Japan and curb imports driven by the weak yen. The subsidized ¥55,000 model, now 40 percent cheaper than the unrestricted version, reflects targeted spending on a key market long dominated by Nintendo.

GameStop CEO Forgoes $35B Bonus to Pursue eBay Takeover

GameStop has withdrawn Ryan Cohen's potential $35 billion performance bonus so the CEO can concentrate on acquiring eBay. The decision follows eBay's swift rejection of a $55 billion bid in May and precedes the planned release of additional strategic materials this week.
